Angel Hair has an incredibly unique sound and were extremely influential on the hardcore scene coming out of the late 1990s. They seamlessly blend elements of chaotic hardcore with elements of emotional hardcore and put their own chaotic, experimental flair on it. It's hard to compare them to many other bands because they were really doing their own thing. Bits and pieces of their experimental sound became more consistent in the late 1990s, however in 1992 when the band formed, they definitely stood out as different.
Angel Hair's 12" Insect Mortality is one of, if not their best release in my opinion, they really had their sound figured out to a perfect science and listening to it honestly never gets old, there's always something new to notice and appreciate. Not to mention it includes their killer cover of Bauhaus's "Stigmata Martyr".
Note that the 12" is also a different mix (that I might just like better) of these tracks than the recording on their discography CD.
Angel Hair also has a blog with many photos, old fliers and posters, t-shirts, and their releases which you can check out here.
